What is Plate by Zumba?
Plate by Zumba is an educational nutrition program that I facilitate to empower individuals, families and communities to learn the basics about nutrition!
I have undergone the necessary training to provide lessons that are within the Plate by Zumba program, which have been developed in collaboration with Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Lisa Dorfman RD.
My classes are offered on a needs basis and can include the following formats:
Flexible in person or online classes that can be offered in the following:
- 12 week small group program (2 months and 2 weeks) Weekly Night Classes
- Workshops tailored to present to Community Wellness events
- Individual 1:1 Instruction and Support

I will be providing students with nutrition information , and offering information about the truth about food (not a fad diet, or a quick fix), This is a real path, with you as the guide, to health and well-being.
I will present, discuss, and refer your students to information and student lesson plans provided by the Plate by Zumba program, which have been developed in collaboration with Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Lisa Dorfman RD
You may provide general, non-medical nutrition information – which include, but are not limited to, the following:

Anybody with a body! A Plate by Zumba™ class is designed to give you the education you need to make healthier choices and live a better life.
How It Works
Your licensed Plate by Zumba™ Coach will take you through a lesson in healthy eating and break down what foods have been shown to promote health and how others tend to get in the way. Every class will be an adventure in healthy eating topics such as macronutrients, fiber and digestive health, and how to navigate tricky food labels.

- The essential nutrients needed by the body
- Actions of nutrients in the body
- Effects of deficiencies and excesses of nutrients
- Food or supplements that are good sources of essential nutrients

I am NOT a “Dietitian”, “Nutritionist”, “Nutrition coach,” “nutrition counselor,” etc.
I am a holistic wellness advocate that is using this program to provide a starting point for individuals, families and communities to be exposed to general information regarding nutrition to create long lasting impact on their overall health and wellness.
The following examples are acts I may provide that meet the definition of general, non-medical nutrition information:
- Demonstrating how to prepare and cook food
- Taking participants on a grocery store tour and teaching them to read food labels
- Providing information about food guidance systems, healthy eating-out and healthy snacks
- Talking about carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water as essential nutrients needed by the body and how nutrients requirements may vary through the life cycle
- Giving statistical information about the relationship between chronic diseases and the excesses or deficiencies of certain nutrients
- Providing information on nutrients contained in foods and supplements
- Provide lessons based on the Plate by ZumbaTM “Lesson Plans” provided in whatever format you feel comfortable (live class, written newsletter, demo etc).
